Jim Nabors, better known to many as “Gomer Pyle”, has passed away today at the age of 87. He had been battling “health issues for some time”. His husband of more than 40 years, Stan Cadwallader, was at his side.
Jim Nabors starred on “The Andy Griffith Show”, which made him a household name. His character was also the focus of a spinoff show, “Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.”. He also starred in movies, such as “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and “Cannonball Run II”. Many may not be aware that Nabors was also an “accomplished singer”. He “recorded dozens of albums and scored 5 gold and 1 platinum records”. His song, “Back Home Again in Indiana” became a part of the Indy 500 race. Nabors also had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, awarded to him in 1991.
Nabors lived in Honolulu, Hawaii with his husband, Stan.
Our thoughts are with his husband during this difficult time.
