During a recent press tour in Pasadena, California, Johnny Galecki said, “‘The Big Bang Theory’ will likely end in season 12”. He went on to say, “The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping [The Big Bang Theory] has been that we’re all going to be very sad when that day comes. But I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.”
The show has been a big CBS hit from the beginning and fans will be sad to see it go. Currently, a spinoff show called “Young Sheldon” is in 1st place for ratings with “The Big Bang Theory” coming in 2nd. CBS President, Kelly Kahl, says, “‘Young Sheldon’ has made a huge impact on our schedule in the short time it’s been on the air. While the show’s DNA is clearly rooted in ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ‘Young Sheldon’ has staked out its own place in the TV universe with a unique creative tone, brilliant writing and a gifted multi-generational cast. We can’t wait to see Chuck, Steve, Jim and Todd’s vision for how the Cooper family deals with Sheldon growing a year older…and smarter.” Who knew?
We’ll all miss “The Big Bang Theory”. Thankfully it will still be around in perpetual reruns. It was great to see the stars of this series grow and change through the years. We are sure there will be other projects they will participate in after a well-deserved hiatus.
