Luke Bryan is one of country music’s greatest singers. During his rise to fame, Luke and his wife Caroline, have dealt with a lot of tragedy.
Bryan opened up about the loss of his brother Chris, at the age of 26 he died in a car accident in the year 2000. In 2007, at the young age of 39, Luke lost his sister suddenly. He told Robin Roberts:
“I’ve watched my family go through ebbs and throws where we get mad at God and we get mad at why this has happened.” Then in 2014, his late sister ( Kelly’s) widower, Ben Cheshire died. (How awful, my heart hurts for Luke and his family!) Luke and his wife Caroline told Robin Roberts, ” They decided to take in his late sister Kelly and her late husband Ben’s 3 children: son Til age 15, and college–aged daughters Jordan and Kris. ” We never thought twice about it”, said Caroline. “You know, it was never something that Luke and I had to sit down and talk about, we just did it.” Luke said it took some time getting used to raising a teenager. “We’re buddies now, though, kinda,” the “Light it Up” singer joked. “Until he makes me….that’s when I get onto him, I’m like, ‘alright, your making me be an adult; don’t make me be an adult!'” (I don’t want to be an adult either Luke…lol) On top of all of these tragedies, Caroline lost her infant niece, Sadie Brett, in February. (Awe how awful, so much loss and sadness in this poor family, it truly hurts my heart.)
Even though they are trying to cope and make the best of things in this season of their lives they said their lives will never be 100%, it’s hard enough getting to 75%.
” You try to be as positive as you can and try to appreciate everyday.”
